Deer Valley Specialist Real Estate Tip of the Week: Buying In a Resort Location

By diana
May 20, 2013

Buying a home in a beautiful resort location such as Park City, UT, can be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream – to live in a place where you can enjoy year-round outdoor recreation, rich cultural opportunities and the support of a close-knit community.  Since personal lifestyle and locations vary greatly, it is important to ask yourself some questions about any area you are considering:

Does the area offer a variety of outdoor activities that you love?  The best investment locations are close to skiing in winter, and have areas for walking, tennis and golf for summer.  Park City offers all of those things plus world class mountain biking and hiking trails.

Is the local real estate market growing, with strong home sales and increasing home prices? These are signs of a healthy market.  A popular area where buyers outnumber the inventory of homes is a good investment.  Park City is seeing the lowest inventory since 2007, so this is great sign that is a good time to invest.

montage deer valleyAre there excellent hotels, spas, restaurants, shops and art galleries nearby?  Park City has several high end hotels including: Montage Deer Valley, Ritz Carlton Deer Valley, Stein Eriksen Lodge, and the Waldorf Astoria Park City.  Plus the Hyatt and Hilton are new additions that have come to Park City in the last year at the Canyons Resort.  Property values will grow in a prime location with world-class guest services.  With the addition of these well-known and popular resorts Park City will continue to see growth.

With your REALTOR’s help, you can find the perfect resort location to fit your particular lifestyle.

Park City Ski Resorts Ranked In Top Ten of Forbes Ranking

By diana
Dec 12, 2012

More good news for all three Park City ski resorts, Forbes Magazine released it's Top 10 Ski Resorts in the United States for 2013, and all three made the list!  Forbes ranked Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and Canyons as number five on their list. They note not only the fact that their are 3 ski resorts within 10 minutes of one another but the draw of all that Park City has to offer:

"Park City the town has more to offer than perhaps any other mountain town going. It’s bigger than Telluride, more accessible than Aspen, only 35 minutes from a major airport and the place is picture perfect in every sense." They then go on to give their opinion of the where the best lift, powder skiing, and food can be found.

A huge advantage to skiing in Park City is the accessibility and the fact that it is a true town.  There is a ton to do and you don't feel so isolated.  It is a big reason why many people decide to purchase properties in Park City than other well-known ski towns.  Please contact us to find out more about purchasing Deer Valley or Park City property at 1-866-709-8018.

Those of us that live in Park City and the surrounding areas woke up to snow this morning!  It started snowing last night and is expected to continue into tomorrow morning.  It is wet snow down in the city of Park City but above 9,000 feet it is starting to really accumulate.  It's time to turn on the fire and get cozy with a hot drink, and all this snow gets us thinking that ski season is less than 40 days away!  Park City Mountain Resort, Canyons Resort, and Deer Valley Resort are all reporting several inches above 9500 feet.

By diana
Oct 17, 2012

Ski Magazine's annual reader survey was announced this week and for the first time in the survey's history all three Park City ski resorts ranked in the Top 10 Resorts in North America.  Deer Valley Resort took second place breaking their record of 5 consecutive years in the number one spot.  Whistler Blackcomb took first this year, their first time in that spot since 1999.  Deer Valley still took the most subcategories of any single resort winning first place in six of twenty categories.  Those categories are: Grooming, guest services, on-mountain food, lodging, dining, and family programs.

Canyons Resort and Park City Mountain Resort ranked higher than in past years.  Canyons took tenth position this year, its first time in the top ten and moving up 6 spots from the previous year.  Park City Mountain Resort moved up two spots to fourth position this year. Park City was the only resort town to have three resorts fall in the Top 10.  An amazing feet considering the list includes other popular resorts such as Vail, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, and Telluride.

Congrats to all three resorts on winning over the readers of Ski Magazine and proving that Park City is the place to come ski!  The magazine was delivered to subscribers on Oct. 16th so check your mailbox! Or click the link below to see the online version: http://www.skinet.com/ski/

Love For The Park City Farmers Market

By diana
Oct 16, 2012

We have much love for the local Park City Farmers Market and wanted to share some pictures we took there last week.  The Park City Farmers Market is the place to get locally grown produce, meats, cheese, and much more.  We were in heaven this summer with the delicious peaches, tomatoes, pears, berries, herbs, and veggies.  The fall has bought out our favorite apples that we just can't get enough of!

The Farmers Market is every Wednesday through the end of October at the parking lot at the base of the Canyons Resort.  We are sad it is coming to an end but have been busy freezing some of buys to get us through some of winter.  Thanks Farmers Market for giving us a great place to revel in deliciousness!
