Park City Selected as Finalist for "Most Fun Town"

By diana
Jun 28, 2011

With news that Park City has been selected as one of the six finalists for the "Most Fun Town in America," we feel validation for bragging about all the fun things to do here!  The contest is put on by the Best of the Road Rally by Rand McNally and USA TODAY. The winner will be decided by five Best of Road finalist teams that departed  New York on June 23rd.  The teams are required to visit all the towns selected as finalists but nobody knows when they will arrive.  Once they do arrive Park City officials will provide the team with a list of must-sees, have a ceremony or celebration, and facilitate access to points of interest, activities, and events.

Once the teams have visited all the towns the Best of Road judges will weigh their blog posts, videos, and photos to determine the winner.  The winner will be announced at the Destination Marketing Association International Annual Convention on July 22nd.  We are so excited for Park City to receive this honor and know that the teams will have plenty to fill their fun plate when they arrive!

Deer Valley Specialist Real Estate Tip of the Week: Why a Condominium?

By diana
Jun 27, 2011

A condominium is a great investment, whether the purchase is for a primary or a vacation home.  If you love the  lifestyle, but don’t care to have to deal with the things that accompany it, a condominium might be what you’re searching for in a new home.

Condominiums are built specifically to provide the owner with a resort lifestyle feeling, private areas almost at the door .  Amenities  can include swimming pools,  complete state of the art fitness centers with spas attached to relax those muscles after a hard work out.

With some condominiums, there are also twenty four hour services such as valet and security, front desk and concierge service.  All of these translate into excellent re-sale value for any condominium if you ever decide to market your home.

With the variety of  condominiums available in the area, all you really need is the right Realtor to guide you through.

Park City-Salt Lake City Bus Route In the Works

By diana
Jun 23, 2011

A public bus route between Park City and Salt Lake City is being discussed this week by transit officials.  For many years officials and residents have been pushing for a bus route between the cities but it seems like they are getting serious about it this time around.  The service would run year round and would target regular commuters, the wintertime work force, and University of Utah students.  The suggested fee is $5.50 each way, with stops potentially at Jeremy Ranch, Kimball Junction, Canyons, Park City Mountain Resort, Old Town Transit Center, and Snow Park Lodge.

It would be a great opportunity for people that may not want to brave the snowy roads in the winter to come skiing and would of course help reduce traffic on 1-80 and SR 224 coming into Park City.  To see the full article about this potential bus route see the article in the Park Record here:

Deer Valley Specialist Real Estate Tip of the Week: Conservatories

By Delia Reece
Jun 20, 2011

Love the outdoors, but not everything that comes with it, like bugs and heat?

One of the hottest trends right now is one that solves those problems, letting you bring the outdoors to you.  Many modern architects are telling us that clients want conservatories for  a wide variety of reasons, from not wanting to deal with the heat outside, to being bugged by bugs or the sudden downpour that happens when you least expect it.

Conservatories have been part of luxury home designs since the dawn of time, but today’s conservatories not only allow you to be outside without being outside, but  can be eco friendly as well.  A custom  built conservatory can go green with solar paneling and specially cut glass windows, to reduce glare and deflect the sun’s rays while keeping the room cooler.

Conservatories aren't just for company either.  You can design yours to accommodate your desire for a spa, a pool house, even a kitchen, bathroom and shower!  It’s all up to you and your imagination.
