Compared to last January Park City's construction industry posted more solid numbers this year, a good sign that the economy is starting to recover. The Building Department said 43 permits valued at a little more then $2.3 million were issued this January compared to 38 permits worth $849,700 the prior year. That is a triple increase from the same month the year before.
It is still unclear what sort of numbers the industry will post in 2012, but it is off to a good start. There are a few significant developments that could break ground this year, but time-lines are still in question. A number of smaller projects that have been under consideration but pushed back based on the economy could proceed this year, adding to the numbers. We look forward to seeing what 2012 has to offer!
