The Adventure Sport Network named Park City Mountain as one of the 6 best terrain parks in North America!  Terrain parks have become increasingly important for mountain resorts, from massive hits to inventive jib features, it is important to get it right.  Park City Mountain was the only resort on the list in Utah, and has nearly doubled its freestyle terrain after merging with the former Canyons Resort, offering eight terrain parks and two half-pipes.

Excitement is building for the 2019 Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships that will take place Feb 1-10 at Deer Valley Resort, Park City Resort, and Solitude Mountain Resort.  This will be the biggest winter sports event held in Utah since the 2002 Winter Olympics.  

More than 1,800 athletes and team officials will attend the Championships. There will be 29 competitions including qualifying and final rounds with 13 FIS events showcased, and $750,000+ in prize money. Three new Olympic events will be hosted for the first time at a FIS World Championships: freeski big air, mixed team snowboard cross and team aerials.

Here are the happenings this weekend in Park City!  The town is all dressed in snow and glorious right now! 

Annual Park City Holiday Spectacular and Sing-along - Come experience the Holiday spirit at annual Park City Holiday Spectacular and Sing-Along, which features local singers, musicians and dancers.  The shows will be Friday to through Sunday at the Egyptian Theatre on Main Street.  Showtimes are at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.  Tickets range from $15 to $25 and youth tickets are $12.  

Oak Ridge Boys - The Grammy Award-winning country group Oak Ridge Boys will bring its "Shine the Light on Christmas" tour to Kamas's Dejoria Center this Friday.  Tickets range from $55 to $225.  You can purchase them by going to

This Friday, December 7th will be the first of the four “First Friday Fireworks” events. This week entails an ice sculpting demonstration and a complimentary donut bar at Umbrella Bar.

The Sundance Institute announced today the 2019 selected Feature Films for the Sundance Film Festival.  For the 2019 Festival, 112 feature-length films have been selected, representing 33 countries and 45 first-time filmmakers.  These films were selected from a record high of 14,259 submissions including 4,018 feature-length films.  Only Feature Films were announced today, Shorts, Indie Episodic and New Frontier, are forthcoming.

The categories for 2019 Feature Films are: U.S Dramatic, U.S. Documentary, World Cinema Dramatic, World Cinema Documentary, Premieres, Documentary Premieres, Midnight, Spotlight, Next, and Kids.  In 2018, the Festival drew 124,900 attendees from 49 U.S. states and 26 other countries, generated $191.6 million in economic

Woodward Park City recently broke ground at the former Gorgoza Park location. Woodward Park City will bring a world class facility that connects sport, community, and culture with youth inspired programming in one of the greatest outdoor regions in the world.

Every year Historic Main Street kicks off the Holiday season with the Electric Parade and small business Saturday.  More than 200 specialty shops, galleries, and restaurants welcome the holiday season with special deals on Saturday November 24th, encouraging locals and tourists to come shop small on Main Street!  Select businesses will give away gift certificates!  Historic Park City and Park City Municipal are even offering Go Park City App users one free parking session on Main Street Nov 24 - Dec 5.

Park City Mountain Resort is set to open Wednesday, and for the first time both bases will open at Canyons Village and Park City Mountain.  Due to the cold weather and concentrated snowmaking efforts they are able to open both just in time for Thanksgiving!  Payday, First Time, and Three Kings lifts will open at Park City side and High Meadow and Saddleback lifts, accessed by the Red Pine Gondola will open on the Canyons side.  

Canyons side has made some major improvements ready for the ski season with a new learner's area, High Meadows Park, serviced by a new high speed quad lift.  Learners now will have a wider place to practice with a variety of pitches and some fun adventure trails to practice going through the trees.  There was also some dining
