The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has released their preferred alternative for the future of the S.R. 248 (also know as Kearns Blvd) entryway into and out of Park City. S.R. 248 is the 3.1 mile stretch of road between U.S. 40 and the intersection of S.R. 224 (also known as Park Avenue). It serves as the route in and out of Park City for many people who live in parts of the Synderville Basin, East Side of Summit County, and Wasatch County. The expansion calls for it to become a 5 lanes, with two lanes in each direction and a turning lane at intersections. There would also be two left-turn lanes at the intersection of S.R. 248 and 224, an often bottle necked area in the rush hours. There would also be bike lanes created along the entire route.
There will be an open house with the UDOT project team on Wednesday the 26 from 4-6pm at Treasure Mountain Junior High. More info with maps and a draft of the environmental assessment is available here: https://www.udot.utah.gov/SR248improved/.
