Since 2011, Utahns and tourists have visited a winter wonderland in Midway. This Friday the 10th, Ice Castles opens for the season.

The acre-sized attraction features frozen tunnels, fountains, slides, and cascading towers of ice embedded with color-changing LED lights.  The design of the castles changes year to year, with 20 to 40 ice artisans tasked with creating structures formed from thousands of icicles. Construction on the castles began in November.

Tickets are $13.99 for adults 12 and older and $9.99 for children ages 4 to 11 on Mondays through Thursdays. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, tickets are $17.99 for adults 12 and older and $11.99 for children ages 4 to 11. Standby tickets are $18 on weekdays and $22 on weekends. Tickets can be purchased on the company’s website at icecastles.com/utah. Ice Castles is located near the Homestead Resort, 700 N. Homestead Drive.  It really is a spectacular site to see every winter, make it a family outing or date night!
