It is almost Halloween and that means it time to get your costume ready and head to Main Street in Park City!  Below is the schedule of fun events for the whole family!  It is not to be missed! 

Schedule of Events

3:00-5:00 p.m. Trick-or-Treating: Little ghosts and goblins are invited to Main Street for fun and safe Trick-or-Treating, compliments of participating merchants!

5:00 p.m. Dog Parade on Lower Main Street: Leashed, costumed dogs and their owners will meet below the Lower Main Street Pedestrian bridge at 4:45 p.m. The parade will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will march to Heber Avenue.

Getting to Main Street & Parking

  • Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 2 p.m.

Snow Park Residences

The 2020 Sundance Film Festival is scheduled to run from Jan. 23 through Feb. 2.

Before filmmakers and industry insiders, “people in black” and celebrities converge on Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance Resort, Utah residents get the opportunity to buy their film festival ticket package and passes on Tuesday, Oct. 15, two days before the general public.

Utah residents will have three options:

• The $500 Locals SLC Pass. Passholders will have access to all Sundance screenings in Salt Lake City, with priority entrance, and an official festival credential.

• The $300 Locals 10 Ticket Package. Those who purchase this package will get 10 tickets to the films and venues of their choice, along with two official festival credentials.

Utah fall colors drive

You don't have to travel far to take a scenic road trip this fall in Utah. 

Ashley Cox, spokesperson for Utah State Tourism, said the fall season beckons for long weekend drives and adventurous hiking and backpacking trips. She shared several of the most popular places to see where nature's paintbrush has been busy at work.

Mirror Lake Highway near Park City 

Reaching north from Kamas to Evanston, the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway traverses through the Uinta Mountains. The byway is 78 miles each way, much of which parallels the Provo River.

You can see panoramic views of the alpine landscape from the road’s high point at Bald Mountain Pass (10,715 feet above sea level). There are also scenic overlooks at several lakes. Driving the entire

Solitude Ski Resort announced this week that they will start charging for parking this upcoming ski season.  Solitude is calling it an "experiment" to see if charging $20 to park a car will reduce traffic up Big Cottonwood Canyon.  It is $20 for a car with one or two people, $10 for three, and $5 for four or more.  This news has certainly brought up the question as to whether other ski resorts will start charging for parking, including Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort.  Neither resort has publicly said whether charging for parking is in their future plans, but both resorts have plans to pursue developments on the parking lots at their base areas, and build parking garages to replace those lost spaces.
