Midway Ice Castles Are Now Open!

Posted by on Monday, January 7th, 2019 at 3:48pm.

The famous Midway Ice Castles opened this past Saturday at the Homestead Resort in Midway, just 25 minutes from Park City.  Icy fortresses, slippery slides and frozen waterfalls decorate an acre of land outfitted with interactive light and music displays.  It is a feast for your eyes and a major attraction that thousands of people come to see every winter.  They have been building the ice castles since November with over 20 million pounds of ice!

It is highly recommended that you buy your tickets in advance online as they only let a set amount of people in per hour so it doesn't get too crowded.  The ice castles open at 4pm on weekdays and noon on Saturdays and are closed on Sunday.  We do have to say going after dark is ideal due to the amazing lights they incorporate into the ice formations.  The ice castles will stay open as long as the weather stays cold enough, normally until the end of February or beginning of March.

It is a must see if you are here visiting or live here, and an event the whole family will enjoy.  For more info on the Midway Ice Castles and to purchase advance tickets go here:  Midway Ice Castles
