PARK CITY, Utah – May 22, 2019 – Park City Mountain today announced plans to install a new lift in time for the 2019-20 season, pending permits. The fixed grip quad chairlift, named “Over and Out,” will transport guests from a location near the bottom of the Tombstone Express Lift and unload near the top of Sunrise Lift on the front side of the mountain. As the name suggests, this lift will provide a quicker, more direct route for skiers and riders to access Canyons Village from the center of the resort.

Beginning May 24, Park City Mountain will offer a variety of outdoor activities at the Park City Base Area including one of the world’s longest alpine slides; the ZipRider and Flying Eagle Zip Lines; a 4,000 ft alpine coaster; and miles of hiking, mountain biking opening date is yet to be determined. PayDay Lift will open on May 24 followed by Crescent Lift on June 17. Town Lift will be open for scenic rides beginning June 17 through August 21. New this summer, Park City will also offer three new attractions for children weighing between 30 – 100lbs., including a small kids’ zipline and kids’ challenge course that are targeted to open Memorial Day Weekend and a kids’ summer tubing hill targeted to open in July.

Park City Mountain’s Spring Grüv festival is happening now through closing day (April 7) with activities, music and special events at both base areas every day! This year’s Spring Grüv will be highlighted by the two remaining Saturday concerts:  Anderson East on March 30 (Park City Mountain Village) and Dragondeer on April 6 (Canyons Village). Other activities include free s’mores, family après activities, meet and greets with the avalanche dogs.  

The big event everyone looks forward to is the 23rd annual Pond Skimming competition held at the top of the Red Pine Gondola just outside Red Pine Lodge.  Competitors must dress up in costume and try to cross a 100 foot pond on either skis or snowboard.  The hilarity that plays out is well worth the wait for
