Park City's Savor The Summit is the largest outdoor dinner party put on right in the middle of Main Street!  A variety of restaurants will be serving their specialties to over 2,500 participants, al fresco, as the sun sets behind Main Street. The snow is nearly gone and the mountains are abound in green, which means it is time to get hiking!  Deer Valley Resort has some of the best hiking trails in Park City and with many options for novices to experts.  They also have 3 lifts running in the summer (starting mid-June) so you can choose to hike up then ride the lift down or vice versa.

Utah's newest State Park opened last Saturday, and it is only 25 minutes from Park City!  Echo State Park was formerly a privately run reservoir, the 1,400-acre lake is a popular destination for anglers, campers and others. Mountain bikers, hikers and horseback riders also can make use of the 28-mile Union Pacific Rail Trail from the reservoir to Park City.

The Utah Department of Natural Resources' initial budget to kickstart construction on cabins, docks and other amenities was $2 million, but park managers have not released the total price tag of the redevelopment happening in stages.  Gates open at 7 a.m. Admittance is $12 per vehicle, $6 for senior day use and $4 for walk-in and bike access. The Electric Bike Program in Summit County began last summer and much was learned in that time.  Now that the program is in it's second year some needed changes and upgrades have been made to the program.  42 additional bikes were added to the fleet this year due to the high demand and the $5 fee to purchase a one-time pass has been eliminated.    But  a stricter system will also be in place to reduce users from riding the bikes outside of the authorized zones.  

Summit County is hoping to add more station kiosks later this summer. The stations will likely be located at the Snyderville Basin Recreation Fieldhouse, in the Silver Springs and Trailside neighborhoods, City Park in Park City, and, eventually, at the Jeremy Ranch park-and-ride lot and

Fourth at Canyons Village

As summer quickly approaches, here are some of the upcoming events happening at Canyons Village, Park City Mountain.

2018 Summer Event Highlights:

  1. Kick off the summer event season with the July 3rd Celebration & Fireworks. This ever-popular event will include a free concert, family/kids’ activities, and a grand fireworks display at dusk.  
  2. Canyons Village Concert Series has expanded to now include free Thursday concerts, featuring local and regional acts. 
  3. Starting on July 7th, the annual Saturday concerts will continue with free performances, featuring acts from across the country. Family-friendly activities such as face painting and lawn games will be part of these concert evenings as well.
  4. On August 10th and 11th, Canyons Village

A Park City High School Sophomore won the state Doodle 4 Google contest and will now continue in the competition against finalists from around the country. If she wins the national award, her art will be featured on Google and she will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a trip to Google headquarters in Mountain View, California. The high school or nonprofit of the student's choice will also receive $50,000 in value toward the improvement of a computer lab or technology program!

A new study from leading US ecommerce firm Amazon has revealed the top 10 most entrepreneurial US states, with Utah topping the list!  

The study looks at the US states with the most SMEs per capita selling on Amazon – a platform that see’s millions of enterprises selling goods across the world.  Way to go Utah!

The inaugural Deer Valley Concert Series, presented by Deer Valley Resort in conjunction with The State Room Presents, will begin on August 2 with a performance by The Decemberists and conclude on Labor Day, September 3 with Jason Mraz. The series will feature five shows this summer at the resort’s renowned Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater.
