Park City Chamber held it's mid-winter update luncheon and the reports on Park City's economy are all positive.  2019 was one of the best years economically for Park City and all of Utah in recent history, much due to the amazing snow for the 2018/2019 ski season.

Barrons.com named Park City as one of the best  Après ski in North America!  They mention the always amazing Montage Après Lounge where Veuve Clicquot flows besides a wood-burning stove.  Then of course the amazing Stein Ericksen Lodge, and it's Troll Hallen Lounge.  St. Regis and it's Fire Garden and its to die for views and amazing drink menu.  Then of course don't leave out High West Distillery right near Park City's Main Street lift and the the Waldorf Astoria’s Frostoria, a new faux igloo après ski experience. Filled with sofas, plush blankets, and board games, igloos fit up to six guests for wine, cocktails, and shareable plates.

Outside Magazine featured a great article: The Ultimate Guide to Skiing in Utah detailing how to take advantage of the 10 ski areas all within one hour of Salt Lake City.  Utah for sure has the easiest ski areas to access in North America and also some of the worlds best snow!  Park City is featured as a huge piece in the article as being the best for families and those looking for things to do after skiing.  

This is why you just can't beat Utah when it comes to skiing and all things outdoors!

With 2020 one day away, experts and forecasters have issued many market predictions, aligning on certain points, but diverging in opinion on others. Below is a snapshot:

Home-Building
Although homebuilders maintain optimism, buyer demand is stronger, and analysts are divided on whether inventory is meaningfully rising. For 2020, the National Association of REALTORS® expects 10.6 percent more housing starts (multifamily and single-family), while realtor.com® researchers forecast a 6 percent increase in single-family starts. On the flip side, the Urban Land Institute projected single-family starts to tumble 4.7 percent. According to Census data, construction in November spiked—an encouraging indicator.

Deer Valley Snow

Craig is up to his knees in snow at Empire Pass in Deer Valley!

Park City and Deer Valley received over 40 inches of snow in 3 days over Thanksgiving, a great start to the ski season.

Deer Valley will open for skiing December 7 and we hope to see you on the slopes opening day!

The Park City Miners Football team is headed to the State 4A title game on Friday at the Rice-Eccles Stadium! They defeated Pine View in the state playoff semifinals last Thursday to maintain their undefeated record for the season.  The Miners will be playing Sky View High School in the final at 11am on Friday.  Park City High School is releasing its students early on that day so they can attend the game.

Live PC Give PC

Live PC Give PC's annual day of fundraising is tomorrow Friday November 8th!  Anyone living in or around Park City will get a chance to give to their favorite local nonprofits, on a day where the whole community comes together to support one another.  Anyone can donate to one or mulitple nonprofits online by going to: https://www.livepcgivepc.org/giving-events/pc19

The foundation's goal for this year's event is to get 5,000 donors.  Last year they registered 4,790 donors and pulled in 2.4 Million.   The Live PC Give PC headquarters will be at High West Distillery, and starting at 8pm the foundation will host its traditional Live PC Give PC celebration that is open to anyone 21 and over and will track the number of donors and amount of donations.

It is almost Halloween and that means it time to get your costume ready and head to Main Street in Park City!  Below is the schedule of fun events for the whole family!  It is not to be missed! 

Schedule of Events

3:00-5:00 p.m. Trick-or-Treating: Little ghosts and goblins are invited to Main Street for fun and safe Trick-or-Treating, compliments of participating merchants!

5:00 p.m. Dog Parade on Lower Main Street: Leashed, costumed dogs and their owners will meet below the Lower Main Street Pedestrian bridge at 4:45 p.m. The parade will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will march to Heber Avenue.

Getting to Main Street & Parking

  • Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 2 p.m.

The Park City Dine About happens every October and is a great time to try out Park City restaurants to eat more and pay less!  The event goes through October 20, so you still have some time to take advantage of this great deal! 

This two-week dining event features savory two-course lunches and three-course dinners at more than 30 area dining establishments. The best part – patrons enjoy these delectable dishes for an incredible value – just $10 or $15 per person for each lunch, and $20 or $40 per person for each dinner.

Women's Health named Park City as one of the 3 Best Spots for a Ski Holiday in North America!  One of the many reasons, but so important is the ease of access to two world-class ski resorts, just 30 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport! Also noted was the amazing amount of ski terrain, ability to stay at posh high-end hotel like Montage Deer Valley, or the more affordable yet chic hotels.  Then of course the amazing world-class restaurants available in Park City just took it over the top!  We agree Park City is one of the best spots for a ski holiday!
