In a recent article on Bloomberg.com, they list the best places to own a vacation home in the U.S. and Summit Park came in at #1 and Heber came in at #7!  Summit Park -- the term for the micropolitan area, is actually part of Park City but Bloomberg only used micropolitan statistical areas which include one main urban center with a population of at least 10,000 but fewer than 50,000 people, at least one county and all designated hamlets, villages and townships.  Bloomberg used equally measured metrics of: vacation home stock, share of the workforce employed in real estate and recreation-related industries, home valuations and household income.

The Summit Land Conservancy has until March 31 to raise the final $375,000 needed to secure  a conservation easement to preserve the Osguthorpe Farm on Old Ranch Road in Park City as open space.  

Summit Land Conservancy has secured a federal grant for $8.8 million. Summit County will grant $500,000 with other grants that total $605,000. Over 800 individuals have donated over $3.5 million, and the owners of the farm have reduced the price by 3.9M.  The final dollars must be received before the end of March, if not, the federal grants will be lost.

For the second year, Park City Mountain will be covered in pink with pink parties, pink decorations, and hundreds of pink skiers all rallying together for a day of fun that everyone can enjoy. Pink Park City is a charity ski event held at Park City Mountain Resort's Canyons Village and will raise money for all types of cancer research with 100% of the proceeds going to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

It is all happening on March 23rd, and it is a ski day to conquer cancer!  You can sign up solo or with a fundraising team, and raise money.  There will live music, costume contest, photo opps, great food, deck parties at four Park City Mountain Lodges, Rally for Hope Parade and more!

After 10 days and 121 features films, the 2019 Sundance Film Festival awarded 28 prizes to filmmakers.  There are several categories for the awards: U.S. Grand Jury Documentary and Dramatic, World Cinema Grand Jury Documentary and Dramatic, Audience Award U.S. Documentary and Dramatic, Audience Award World Documentary and Dramatic, Directing Awards, Special Jury Awards, and NEXT Awards.

The Adventure Sport Network named Park City Mountain as one of the 6 best terrain parks in North America!  Terrain parks have become increasingly important for mountain resorts, from massive hits to inventive jib features, it is important to get it right.  Park City Mountain was the only resort on the list in Utah, and has nearly doubled its freestyle terrain after merging with the former Canyons Resort, offering eight terrain parks and two half-pipes.

It is no secret that the Epic and new Ikon ski passes are changing the game for Utah Resorts and their patrons.  The Epic Pass was introduced 10 years ago, and the Ikon Pass was just into effect this ski season.  The Epic Pass includes all the resorts under the Vail Umbrella, and Alterra Mountain’s Ikon Pass at a number of resorts across the world, including three in Utah. 

It really has persuaded many skiers and boarders to get season passes and the ski industry sees that as a good thing.  More people are now able to afford to travel to other destinations to ski, going places they probably didn't plan on before these passes were offered.  Park City Resort under the umbrella of Vail and with Deer Valley Resort now under Alterra, it has certainly

If you are coming into Park City for the long Martin Luther King weekend, you will be very happy with the snow forecast! We already had a good start with resorts getting 6-10" yesterday and the big storm is just getting starting as we speak and will continue through Friday.  Forecasters are predicting between 1-2 feet of snow and more then likely over 20 inches at least in Park City.  The storm is already dropping snow right now but it will increase tonight and all day Friday, tailing off Friday night.  Saturday and Sunday will clear for great blue-bird skiing and then another storm is set to come in on Monday with anywhere from 6-12" predicted.
