Woodward Park City, the nation’s first all-in-one action sports and ski resort, will feature a fully integrated and state-of-the-art campus, complete with indoor and outdoor action sports venues for year-round adventure. The inaugural Park City Songwriter Festival will bring music to Park City Friday Sept. 13 and Saturday Sept. 14.  The two-day event will take place at several places in Park City including: the Rockwell Listening Room, The Cabin, Flanagan's on Main, and The Spur Bar and Grill.  There will be acoustic performances by award winning songwriters,  keynote speeches by industry movers and shakers, and free workshops.  Artists such as John Popper of Blues Traveler, Rita Wilson, North Mississippi Allstars, and Marc Brossard are just some of the names performing this weekend for the festival.

It is almost Labor Day weekend and in Park City that means Miner's Day is celebrated on Labor Day Sept 2nd!  Park City will be celebrating its 124th Miner's Day this year.  Miners’ Day had its origins in 1896, as silver miners took a break and created a large parade down the city’s Main Street, with games following in City Park – much like it is today!

New this year will be Food Trucks in City Park, providing a unique selection for lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Park City will host the final two stages of Tour of Utah's grueling bike race, that features some of the world’s most prestigious teams and cyclists. The Tour of Utah now attracts worldwide attention as the top international cycling event that follows the Tour de France. The sixth annual edition of Park City's Best  is out for 2019 and it is the Who's Who of Park City!  Almost 7,000 people voted online this year, making it the most popular year yet!  With 100 questions, there were many categories ranging from food, to hotels, to dentists!  If you want to know who is Park City's favorite chef, teacher, property manager, hair salon, or spa this is the place to look.  There were some repeat winners this year but also some new surprises.

Hard to believe the Park City Kimball Arts Festival turns 50 this year, and everyone is invited to celebrate this weekend August 2-4 on beautiful Main Street!  The Kimball Arts Festival is the main fundraiser for the Kimball Arts Center and with it being 50 years, there will be some special offerings this year.  The Free to Fest is an offering this year for  primary residents of Summit County,  free admission for the whole festival!  Residents must register by Friday Aug 2, to claim their free tickets, by going to kimballartcenter.org.

There also will be a new exhibit called "Festival Throughout the Ages," which is collection of photos taken during the festival's past 50 years. The exhibit will be on display in two locations, the Rockwell Room, at 268

Vail Resorts on Monday announced it has entered into a definitive merger agreement to acquire 100 percent of the outstanding stock of Peak Resorts, at a purchase price of $11.00 per share, subject to certain conditions, including regulatory review and Peak Resorts’ shareholder approval.

Through the acquisition, Vail Resorts will add 17 U.S. ski areas to its network of resorts. Located near major metropolitan areas, including New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Columbus, St. Louis, Kansas City and Louisville, the resorts include:

• Mount Snow in Vermont
• Hunter Mountain in New York
• Attitash Mountain Resort, Wildcat Mountain and Crotched
