Well it seems the secret is out, but if you have ever driven up to Kamas you most likely already know that the donuts at the Mirror Lake Station are very popular and extremely tasty.  What looks like just a normal gas station from the outside is anything but once you get inside.  The Mirror Lake Station makes from scratch donuts, bagels, turnovers, and croissants, and have been making assorted pastries for 40 years!  

The owner decided to enter the Utah Dough Show, a convention for donut-lovers that took place in Salt Lake City this year.  She submitted their raspberry fritter and won the best donut in Utah!  Six judges from outside of Utah cast their vote and decided the winner.  So, next time you are headed up to Kamas or the Uintas stop in and see

There will be a slew of Golden Spike 150 celebrations throughout the state this month, making the hearts of railroad and history fans happy!  The Golden Spike 150th anniversary is a celebration of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, with many family-friendly events and exhibits through-out the state of Utah.

As you can see from the graph below, Utah rated as the number one state for leading economic indicators!  Utah was the only state to rank in the 2-3% range, and shows that its economic activity is trending up.

Utah is the 2nd best state to raise a family according to fatherly.com!  To compile the list, researchers created the Policygenius Family Friendly Index, which was made up of nine figures that were weighted equally: Percentage of families, percent of families living in poverty, cost of child care, cost of college, divorce rate, infant mortality rate, violent crime per capita, median household income, and housing costs as a percent of income.

Park City Institute on Wednesday announced its St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Summer Concert Series! It will take place this summer in The Eccles Center for the Performing Arts on Kearns Blvd.  Last year the concert series used two temporary locations after Deer Valley Resort decided not to renew their contract and instead hold their own concert series.  They announced five concerts starting on July 7 and ending August 24.

Vail announced on Thursday morning that it has entered into an agreement with a Utah based commercial real estate investment group PEG companies to sell and develop parcels of land currently used as surface parking lots at the base of Park City Mountain. 

Vail says that the development plan for the 10 acre lot will feature a mixed-use project, including a full-service hotel and spa, residential units, commercial space for dining and retail, skier services, parking garages and community priorities such as improved access to public parking, traffic and transit improvements and on-site workforce housing.

The 2019 First Quarter Park City and Heber Valley Market Report is out and it provides a great overview of the Summit and Wasatch County real estate markets.  Prices did rise slightly in almost every area, including Park City Limits (this includes the Deer Valley area), Synderville Basin, Heber Valley, and East Summit County.  Please remember that these areas are highly segmented, even though just a few miles apart, Deer Valley and Thaynes Canyons area vary greatly in price and what is available.  Please reach out to us for a detailed look at any areas you are looking at or currently reside.

In a recent article on Bloomberg.com, they list the best places to own a vacation home in the U.S. and Summit Park came in at #1 and Heber came in at #7!  Summit Park -- the term for the micropolitan area, is actually part of Park City but Bloomberg only used micropolitan statistical areas which include one main urban center with a population of at least 10,000 but fewer than 50,000 people, at least one county and all designated hamlets, villages and townships.  Bloomberg used equally measured metrics of: vacation home stock, share of the workforce employed in real estate and recreation-related industries, home valuations and household income.
